Moving With Children

Is your family moving? Would you like ideas to help your children cope with relocating to a new place?

The ebook, “Moving With Children: A Guide to Successful Family Relocation” will give you tips from parents who have been there.

Our first move with children, we were leaving a northern state in late February. Of course, when the movers arrived to load our household goods on the truck, a near blizzard was blowing. I wondered if I would have the movers staying the night in a worsening storm or if they would be able to head south with our load. My main concern that day was keeping our two children, aged 2 months and 3 years, warm, out of the way and fed. A friend was able to watch them for a few hours and my husband was there to check off the numbers as the boxes went out the door. Even with that help, we were exhausted at the end of the day.

The arrival at our new town and unloading of the boxes was even worse. I had not learned the “last out, first in” rule, so I had no place for the baby. I held her for hours until finally the crib and playpen came off the truck. I hadn’t met anyone to watch my 3-year-old, so he was underfoot all day. Most of the day, I held the baby with one arm and hung onto the older one with the other while the movers stepped around us with boxes and furniture.

I learned some lessons with that move and I’ve collected even more from my own life and from friends. This 50-page ebook is the result.

Between forty and fifty million Americans will move this year. Many have children who must adjust to a new home, new friends, new school. Is your family one of the ones on the move?

Wouldn't you like advice from parents who have successfully moved? This is not a book that explains the best way to pack china or how to find a realtor or choose a moving company. It's not a psychological book that examines the impact on your child. It is a book of actual tips to help you help your child; tips that are relevant to your child's age.

Tips from someone who's been there with boxes piled to the ceiling, a baby crying on my shoulder and a toddler underfoot of the movers.
